Hydroxyurea sulfate is a kind of medicine, which is used in malignant melanoma, gastric cancer, colorectal cancer, breast cancer, bladder cancer, head and neck cancer, malignant lymphoma, primary liver cancer and acute and chronic myeloid leukemia. Combined with radiotherapy and chemotherapy, brain tumor was treated. There are oral and intravenous drugs.

Production method

It is prepared by the reaction of ethyl carbamate and hydroxylamine hydrochloride. Cool the sodium hydroxide solution to 20-25 ℃. Ethyl carbamate and hydroxylamine hydrochloride were added alternately under stirring and reacted at 25-28 ℃ for 16 h. Neutralize with hydrochloric acid to pH 6.5-7 and control temperature not exceeding 25 ℃. After that, it was concentrated under reduced pressure, filtered while hot, cooled to below 0 ℃ and crystallized. After filtration, crystallization, washing with ice water, drying, the crude hydroxyurea was obtained. The yield is about 65%. Pharmaceutical hydroxyurea can be obtained by refining.
